Christ the Redeemer is on top of Corcovado Mountain, located in Tijuca National Park, inside the largest urban forest in the world.

The park contains 3,953 acres of unique beauty that contrasts the green of the forest with the high rocky surfaces and with seawater. Place of abundant flora and fauna, it is ideal for special tracks, uniting sport and leisure. Through them, the splendor of the robust nature can be looked closely.

Beyond the Monument to Christ the Redeemer, within the boundaries of the Tijuca National Park are other major attractions: Pedra da Gávea, the Chinese view, the Mayrink Chapel, the Bureau of the Emperor and the Lage Park.
