The sanctuaries are an important reality in the life of the Church. Since the Old Testament, the patriarchs headed to high places to talk with God. Jesus himself retires sometimes to the hills, to be in prayer with the Father. On the Sanctuary of Corcovado, especially dedicated to the Risen Christ, the Lord intercedes incessantly for mankind. Truly present in the consecrated host, in the chapel of the monument, Christ the Redeemer, with open arms, asserts the promise of Jesus: "Behold, I am with you always until the end of the world" (Mt 28:20).
