Pre-Wedding Blessing at Christ the Redeemer

The Pre-Wedding moment at the Christ the Redeemer Sanctuary is a spiritual blessing for the couple, marked by beauty, reverence, and inner preparation.

In harmony with the teachings of the Church, this rite reflects the importance of the commitment about to be made through the Sacrament of Matrimony.

It is a symbolic and devotional gesture that precedes the wedding, strengthening the couple’s spiritual bond. While deeply meaningful, the Pre-Wedding blessing does not replace the sacramental celebration of Matrimony, and must therefore follow specific guidelines that uphold the sacredness of the site.

Important Information

• About the Celebration

  The blessing is performed by a priest in a brief and symbolic ceremony, following Church tradition. The celebration takes place in the Chapel of Our Lady of Aparecida or in another space designated by the Sanctuary, depending on availability.

• About Attire

  As this is a preparatory rite, traditional wedding attire is not permitted. This includes wedding dresses, veils, bouquets, full suits, or bridal accessories.

  Couples should be appropriately dressed with modesty and reverence, respecting the sacred character of the location.

• About Processions and Entrances

  Processions, ceremonial entrances, or accompanying entourages are not allowed. The moment is reserved for the couple and any guests previously authorized.

• About Music

  Only liturgical or religious music is allowed during the blessing. Popular or non-sacred songs are not permitted.

• About Penalties

  Failure to comply with liturgical guidelines or production rules may result in administrative fines and/or immediate suspension of the ceremony by the Sanctuary.
