Christ the Redeemer receives orange lighting in Rio

Christ the Redeemer will be illuminated with Orange next wedenesday, to draw the attention of society about human trafficking and missing people. The action is part of the Archdiocese of Rio campaign and website / application Search Immediate Alert (BIA) / My Son is Missing.

Besides the lighting, the rector of the Sanctuary of Christ the Redeemer, Father Omar Raposo, will pray the Angelus prayer for the victims of crime and their relatives. The date will also mark the creation of the Alert Day against human trafficking and the missing.

The moment of prayer will count with the presence of personalities and representatives of public and private organizations, relating to security, human rights and social welfare, as the mother of fighter Vitor Belfort, Jovita Belfort, whose daughter disappeared in 2004; actor and singer Rafael Almeida, brother of singer Tania Mara; Carlos Eduardo Sobral, Head of the Federal Police Cyber Crimes Enforcement Service, among others.

"The struggle of the church against human trafficking is old and was ratified by the Fraternity Campaign, of CNBB, this year. Thus, the suggestion of the direction of the site BIA / my son is missing, of a warning technology against human trafficking and the missing, comes to join efforts to our mission, "says Father Omar Raposo.
