This sunday, the 31st, Christ the Redeemer was illuminated with the colors of the Vatican, yellow and white, in order to support the " Inter-religious Match for Peace", which takes place today in Rome.
The game, which is inspired by Pope Francisco, will be promoted by Scholas Occurrentes, the entity that uses technology, art and sport to promote social and cultural integration, and the Fondazione Onlus PUPI, which promotes the development of a new ethics of citizenship, supporting the most vulnerable sectors of societies. The entities will receive the full amount related to tickets sold for the game.
The game will feature the best footballers in the world, of different religions: Roberto Baggio, Gianluigi Buffon, Samuel Eto'o, Javier Mascherano, Lionel Messi, Mesut Özil, Andrea Pirlo, Ronaldinho, Andriy Shevchenko and David Trezeguet.
They will be divided into two teams, that will have as coaches the current Argentine coach, Gerardo Martino and Arsenal's manager, the French Arsene Wenger. The captains will be Zanetti and Bufon. It is also expected the participation within the field of Milan’ s coach, Pippo Inzaghi and of Atletico de Madrid’s coach, the Argentinian Diego Simeone.
The game will be broadcasted live by RAI, the Italian TV network and it is also possible to follow through the player of Vatican Radio, with commentary in Italian.
