How do you see yourself? Maybe this is an excellent moment to reflect about your role in history... Do you act or are you only watching daily events and being carried by them?
During the World Youth Day, here in Rio de Janeiro, last year, Pope Francis, during the Prayer Vigil in Copacabana, on July 27, guided us to assume the protagonism of our existence. And to think of our life as a big stage, in which we are the major characters - imbued with the determination to do well and do it right - is quite interesting and motivating!
Understand this: if we know that God himself wanted to count with us to accomplish wonderful things, as to generate human life, for example, why wouldn’t he not count with us for projects in our own existence? He does not want us passive, but active in the attitudes! We are protagonists, not the supporting cast of our history. So we need to roll up our sleeves and fight, work towards the realization of our dreams, our ideals.
Is the job Market too competitive? You and your love want to get married and don’t have money for the house? Someone in your Family is facing a severe illness?... Dealing with any situation, you need to pray and to act. You can’t be accommodated, waiting for things to solve themselves. No! In the Christian walk with God, you are partners. You take steps and sow and He blesses and makes it bear fruits.
Your attitudes always announce who you are. So if you take the protagonism of your life, everything you do shines as a Christian testimony. People look at you and marvel for your victories and achievements. They see how God works because you agreed to be, in the words of the Holy Father, "Field of Faith" - where he sows, prepares and performs.
I know that the first wall to be raised to build a new world is that of my own life. I should take the protagonism of it and be "Field of Faith," to testify God to the world. Are you up to the challenge? We’re in it together!
